7 Seals & the 4 Horsemen

Who can open the seals?

“you were slain and redeemed us”

“And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?’ And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book. .  The elders . . fell down before the Lamb. . saying, ‘You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every . . nation;’” (Revelation 5:2,3,8,9)

Only Jesus was worthy to open the book, because he broke the power that the four horsemen have over us, which are the first four seals. He also knows the future, which are the last three seals, as “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Rev.19:10)

The four horsemen of the apocalypse

The first four seals are four horsemen that have competed for the hearts of men, since the beginning of mankind.

THE FIRST SEAL: “when the Lamb opened one of the seals . . And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” (Rev.6:1,2)

The first seal is the white horse with its rider of political and religious leadership and bigotry. His threatening bow of ‘get out of my way’ is his striving for power and with the crown of “being ruler, nationalism and noble aspirations” has conquered and divided mankind.

THE SECOND SEAL: And when he had opened the second seal . .there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” (Rev.6:3,4) The second seal is the red horse of military might and war using these divisions of the first seal to take peace from the earth.

THE THIRD SEAL: And when he had opened the third seal . .  I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” (Rev.6:5,6)

The third seal is the black horse of business, that thrives with war. Here you see clearly how big business keeps a strangle hold on the daily food, represented by the wheat and barley, while it keeps itself well supplied with the good things of life symbolized by the oil and the wine. As you see the horses are running together and are interlinked, The red horse of the military influences the white horse of nationalism and politics, but the third horse of business is one up on the ladder and influences or controls the first two.

THE FOURTH SEAL: “And when he had opened the fourth seal. . I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” (Rev.6:7,8)

The fourth is the pale horse of death, eager to reap the result of our sins of greed and selfishness and what the other horsemen have sown in our hearts, creating Hell on earth, with death and destruction. He will come out strongest and his final achievement is of course the Atomic War.

We now switch to the future, to the Great tribulation.

THE FIFTH SEAL: And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said to them, that they should rest a little while longer, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Rev.6:9-11)

The fifth are the martyrs crying out, “how much longer will it last, till you take control over them that dwell on the earth, to end this mess and total anarchy?” During the Great Tribulation many of their fellowservants will be killed as they were, and it is only a little while longer. . . It wont be long, as Jesus said “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory . . to gather together his elect from the four winds”

Next we move along to the wrath of the Lamb or the short time period after the tribulation.

THE SIXTH SEAL: “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth. .  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth . . and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

The sixth seal is about the aftereffects of the nuclear war, or the ‘wrath of God’ and an earthquake totally off the Richter scale. That is for those who dwell on the earth as Jesus has whisked away his children to the “Marriage supper of the Lamb”.

The seventh seal takes us back to the start of the tribulation to announce the ‘Seven Trumpets of the Tribulation’.

THE SEVENTH SEAL: “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. . . And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.” (Rev.8:1,2,6)

The seventh seal announces the Seven Trumpets of the Tribulation, which show that God is not too pleased with the persecution of his children. Hence He sends the world a few other things to keep them occupied, besides their focus on killing His children.

However before the 7 tribulation trumpets sound, John writes, “I saw another angel . . having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice . . saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand.” (Rev.7:2,3) These 144,000 will go through the tribulation but are protected by the seal of God. Much like the children of Israel when the plagues came down on the Egyptians.
