If God is almighty, then why did he create the Devil?
The devil has to be there, and is needed like a sparring partner, because how can you ever learn to defend yourself and win the fight if you don’t have sparring partner. If you have a weak spot, or you let your defense down, by looking at yourself, your weaknesses and all that is wrong with you, then boom he barrels in, and you almost get knocked for a loop. What went wrong?
Back to the coach
“Listen to me, he has a trick, He’ll try to get you to look at yourself, watch out when that happens, because he is about to give you a left hook. So focus, not on yourself, but on the fight, guard yourself, keep your defense up, and as you block his hook, you immediately come back with your left hook and your right uppercut. You got that? Okay now go, show him that you mean business. If you watch, block and attack then you are making progress.”
If we want to be fighters then we have to listen to and learn from the coach. Our coach blocked his opponent with scriptures. He never boasted or said, “I am J.C., God’s Son, who do you think you are?”
No, he blocked all the attacks with the best possible defense and counterattack – the scriptures.
The World Champion Title Fight – The Match of All Ages, between: J.C. and Satan.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, who will come away with the Title?”
(Adapted from Matthew chapter 4 verses 1-11)
Satan tries to make an impact with the Ali shuffle, but J.C. is not impressed. J.C. is feeling hungry – Satan tries to knock him out working on his Feelings, in this case with food, man, food. “Hey, if you are God’s son why don’t you make bread from these bricks?’ He almost broke his wrist on J.C. blocking him, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.” The counter attack sent him reeling. . . . But he was saved by the bell.
Satan comes at him with all his strength. This time he tries to hit him with Pride and Selfishness, Narcissism, Spiritual Pride and Suicide. He also knows scripture, so he tries to get at J.C. with Psalms 91 verse 11 and 12. This will knock him out. He takes him to a high-rise. Suicide is the way to go, that is really respect for yourself. “Cast yourself down. Jump, man, jump: for it is written, He will have his angels protect you: and in their hands shall they carry you, in case you should dash your foot against a stone.” So jump, man, jump and you will be with the angels and your troubles will be over.”
But the defense is up and the block is effective, the right hook even better, “It is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God. “Again saved by the bell. Satan wobbles back to his corner.”Damn it, I can’t get to him. I’ll throw everything at him that I have and have ever owned. I’ll make him king of the world, just one little condition. Yeah, I think I’ve got him this time. It is common sense, who would not sell his soul for that?”
Satan confidently flexes his muscles and charges, left, left, again left, then the right hook. This time he comes at him with Wealth, Money, Power, Politics. ‘He takes him up to a very high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them, ‘All these things will I give you, if you recognize me as boss, just let me knock you out and you fall down, and worship me. And you can have everything that I ever owned.’
Here it seems he went too far. Now it is enough. J.C. not only blocks and gives him one or two hooks. No, it is a volley of punches: left, right, left, left, left, right uppercut, left hook, and the final right hook, which settles the match. “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.” Amazing that last right hook was perfect on the chin. J.C. not only wins on points, but it is a complete K.O.
Satan’s cronies throw in the towel and carry him out on a stretcher.
The crowd cheers, and these beautiful angels come and take care of J.C. Wow what a reward!
Every time Satan tempted him, and tried to knock him out by playing on human weaknesses, he quoted, “It is written. . . ”
Now if you are under attack and are going through a particular difficult time, then you have to train and strengthen your spiritual muscles by memorizing scriptures, which our coach proved, is our only salvation to win the fight.
Winning does not come easy, it is giving your all in training and building up your endurance.
Memorizing scriptures is tough on our spiritual muscles, but if we want the prize we are going to have to strengthen ourselves and learn to fight.
Thank God for the Devil, who teaches us to fight and forces us to train and to listen to the instructions of our World champion coach.
If it was not for the Devil we would be lazy and sleepy, church-bench couch-potatoes, talking about how difficult things are, and asking others constantly for prayer. It is fine to ask for prayer, but if you don’t train and start fighting yourself, then you will become a black hole instead of a shining star.
Because of the Devil we realize that we have the honour to train with the best possible coach, who was and is, the all-time, one-and-only, undefeated World champion.
If we strengthen our muscles by writing down and memorizing scriptures that speak to us and helped us through a difficult time then we learn to fight like our coach, Jesus Christ, and come out as winners in this coming final World championship fight for every believer..
This one we will have to fight without our protective gear, then we will only have the scripture-muscle power that we have built up during our present time of training.
Soon the starting bell will ring! Are we training and preparing ourselves to see if we have what it takes. If we strengthen ourselves in the scriptures and follow our coach step by step then we will bring that trophy of “WELL DONE” home.
“Believing is not enough. If you believe in God then fight for him.” J.P.
“Normality is what weak people call living, I call it death.” Greg Plitt
“Doubt is only removed by action, if you’re not working (training) then that’s where doubt comes in” Conor McGregor
“I tell people I am tired, but in fact I am depressed.
I tell people I’ll be fine tomorrow, but I know tomorrow will be worse.
I tell lies every day, but I know, I’ll not be able to stop it by myself.”
Obviously this person has had some good hooks and is knocked-out of the fight. She admits that she is not able to stop the attacks by herself. However if she is willing to ask my coach to help her, then he will lovingly pick her up and gently teach her how to get back on her feet and she will learn to love the fight, and go from victory to victory.
